Introduction—Creating a Kissel Research Library

Amelia Earhart's Kissel Speedster, before restoration,
as found in a field in Lincoln, Massachusetts

LITERATURE AND MORE: A small sample of the extensive literature, photos and other items that Lynn has been able to acquire online.

To support his restoration efforts, Lynn goes on a literature buying spree, snapping up every Kissel factory publication, magazine article, book or photo that he can find. Indeed, he locates an amazing collection of information by closely watching the auctions on eBay and other online sources. From July through December, 2005, Lynn successfully buys about 100 items, most of them literature or images of Kissel cars. Lynn also acquires a few pieces of unique hardware, including spare-tire-mount Kissel mirrors and a Kissel Motometer (the thermometer thingy atop the radiator). These items can be viewed as a mini research library on the Kissel Motor Car Company that will aid Lynn in his restoration activities with Bugsby.
