Exterior—Rear Hatch Lock

Official company photograph of the 1924 Kissel
Model 6-55 Speedster

HATCH: The rear hatch and locking T handle (left) is useful for protecting valuables while Bugsby is unattended (right).

The rear hatch on Bugsby is not a rumble seat, although there are Speedster models with an extra seat there. This is only a storage area on Bugsby. The hatch has a lock but Lynn doesn't have the key. It would be very convenient to have a locking storage area when Bugsby is left unattended in a public parking space. Lynn takes Bugsby to a lock smith and gets a key made for the one missing for the lock on the rear deck hatch. He also has multiple spare keys made for the ignition and hatch.
